Microsoft Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL gets launched

Microsoft has now launched two new smartphones dubbed Microsoft Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL with LTE and Dual SIM variants during Mobile World Congress (MWC) held at Barcelona.

Microsoft Lumia 640 will be available globally from April, 2105 and it will be available in LTE and 3G variants. Lumia 640 is a single SIM smartphone with LTE connectivity and on the other hand Lumia 640 Dual SIM supports dual SIM cards and offers 3G support.

The price of Microsoft Lumia 640 LTE variant is EUR 159 which is approximately INR 11,000 rupees and Lumia 640 Dual SIM variant carries aprice tag of EUR 139 which is approximately INR 9,600 rupees. These prices are exclusive of subsidies and taxes.



Microsoft Lumia 640 XL becomes the first Windows powered budget phablet device and will be available in four different variants – Lumia 640 XL single SIM offering 3G support, Lumia 640 XL single SIM LTE supported device, Microsoft Lumia 640 XL Dual SIM with 3G support and Lumia 640 XL supporting LTE support with Dual SIM cards.

This device is expected to be available by March, 2105 and the starting price is set to EUR 189 that is approximately INR 13,000 rupees for 3G variants and EUR 219 which is approximately INR 15,150 rupees for LTE variants and these prices are exclusive from subsidies and taxes. Unfortunately for Indian market, Microsoft Lumia 640 Dual SIM, Lumia 640 XL Dual SIM LTE and Lumia 640 Dual SIM won’t be available soon since Microsoft’s India website lists these devices mights not be launched in India.

Microsoft additionally offers a one year subscription to Office 365 with Microsoft Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL and also they offer subscription to 1 TB of storage space on OneDrive. Like other Microsoft smartphones these devices will also come with Office, Cortana, OneDrive, Outlook and Skype.

Microsoft Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL comes with Windows Phone 8.1 operating system with Lumia Denim update out of the box and both of these devices are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 chipset with quad core processor clocked at speed of 1.2 GHz. It is coupled with 1 GB of main memory (RAM). These new devices comes with 8 GB of internal storage space and it can be expanded up to 128 GB of memory via an external micro SD card.

Microsoft Lumia 640 XL and Lumia 640 have some differences innards. Lumia 640 features a 5 inch high definition IPS LCD display with resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It sports an 8 MP camera on its back and also a 0.9 MP front snapper gets on board. It is packed with 2,500 mAh battery.

Microsoft Lumia 640 XL features a 5.7 inch high definition IPS LCD display with resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It sports a 13 MP rear camera and 5 MP front camera. This device is backed with 3000 mAh battery.
