Xiaomi Mi 4 with Snapdragon 801 chipset gets launched
Xiaomi has come up with a 2014 flagship smartphone dubbed Xiaomi Mi 4 which carries a price tag of INR 19,999 rupees for its 16 GB variant. There is also another variant of Mi4 which has 64 GB of storage space on-board which will soon be available in India but no details about release and availability has been announced yet.
Registrations for Xiaomi Mi 4 is available through FlipKart starting from 10th February, 2105 at 6 PM (Wednesday). This smartphone is expected from Indian users for a while now since Xiaomi has yet to offer a replacement for previous flagship Xiaomi Mi 3 whose sales were discontinued in last October, 2104.
During the flash sale of Xiaomi Mi 4, the availability about the number of units has not been announced but Manu Kumar Jain, Head of Xiaomi India said it maybe around 25,000 to 40,000 units and also added that only white variants will be available initially.
Xiaomi Mi 4 will run on Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box with Xiaomi’s MIUI 6 user interface on top of it. This smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 chipset with quad core processor clocked at speed of 2.5 GHz. It is coupled with 3 GB of main memory (RAM). Initially only 16 GB version of Mi 4 will be released so the on board storage space will remain 16 GB.
Xiaomi Mi 4 features a 5 inch full high definition display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels which is same as Xiaomi Mi 3. But the improvement is that Xiaomi has used JDI OGS full lamination display.
Xiaomi Mi 4 sports a 13 MP camera on its back and an 8 MP front snapper. Both of these lenses has Sony’s CMOS sensors. This latest smartphone is packed with 3080 mAh battery.
Xiaomi announced that Xiaomi Mi 4 will have two flash sames week model but they weren’t clear enough about which days will go ahead. Manu Kumar Jain, Head of Xiaomi India also added that Xiaomi will start to sell Mi 4 via Xiaomi India website where now it is currently available only via Flipkart.
