Xiaomi MiPad featuring 7.9 inch display goes for sale at INR 12,999
During an event on Thursday, Xiaomi has officially launched their first tablet for the Indian market dubbed Xiaomi MiPad. This android powered tablet carries a price tag of INR 12,999 rupees. Xiaomi also launched the Redmi 2 which is a successor of Xiaomi Redmi 1. Redmi 2 carries a price tag of INR 6,999 rupees.
Xiaomi MiPad will be available in India unlike other devices which is being sold only by flash sales. This device will become available exclusively on FlipKart starting from 24th March, 2105. It also doesn’t need any registrations. As of now only White color version of the device will be available.
When Xiaomi MiPad was unveiled in May, 2104 the firm claimed that MiPad is powered by Nvidia Tegra K1 chipset with ARM Cortex A15 processor which is clocked at 2.2 GHz and alongside has 192 core Kepler GPU for graphics support.
Xiaomi MiPad carries a 2 GB of LPDDR3 main memory module (RAM) which is high for this tablet. Xiaomi says that MiPad will support Open GL ES 3.1 and Open GL 4.4 and the tablet is packed with Kepler GPU architecture.
Xiaomi MiPad features a 7.9 inch QXGA IPS display with a screen resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. It has a pixel density of 324 pixels per inch. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. MiPad will run on Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box with MIUI interface on top of it.
Xiaomi MiPad includes an 8 MP camera on its back which is sported with BSI sensor and has the ability to shoot full high resolution videos. In addition to that it carries a 5 MP front snapper that has OmniVision sensor. The connectivity options of Xiaomi MiPad includes WiFi, Bluetooth version 4.0, micro USB.
A 6700 mAh battery is packed with Xiaomi MiPad. In future this device will be available in Green, Yellow, Blue, Black, White and red flavors. This tablet physically measures 135.4 x 202.1 x 8.5 millimeters and weighs about 360 grams. It goes for a price of INR 12,999 rupees.
