OnePlus Mini gets its official name OnePlus X

Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus has officially confirmed the name of OnePlus mini in a Weibo post. The next smartphone will get the name OnePlus X (which is the OnePlus mini variant). The firm plans to launch the smartphone before the end of this year and it will be most probably be during Christmas holidays.

On the other hand, OnePlus India division has started to send out invites for Monday announcements which confirms that the CEO of OnePlus and Vikas Agarwal, General Manager of OnePlus (India division) will be present for the upcoming event. The event carries the title “The Next Big Step” which gives us some hint that they might announce some India specific partnerships.

But there is also a possibility for OnePlus plans to reveal OnePlus X during the event. Guess we have to wait till Monday for all the answers and hear it from OnePlus.

Some of the purported specifications of OnePlus X includes a 5 inch full high definition IPS display with screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. This new upcoming smartphone might carry a price tag of $250 which is approximately INR 16, 500 rupees. OnePlus X is expected to be launch by December, 2015.

Under the hood, OnePlus X is powered by MediaTek Helio X10 MT6795T processor which is coupled with 2 GB of main memory (a.k.a RAM). The internal storage space of OnePlus X will include 32 GB storage space. Regarding the camera specifications, OnePlus X will sport a 13 MP rear camera with dual tone LED flash light and a 5 MP front snapper gets on board as well.

The primary camera of OnePlus X will support video recording at 4K resolution and has Sony’s IMX 258 lens with f/ 2.0 aperture. OnePlus X will be backed up by a 3000 mAh battery (most probably non-removable) and also rumored to support USB Type-C port along with NFC support. And the main highlight is that unlike OnePlus 2, OnePlus X will feature a finger print scanner on back panel rather than on HOME button.
